Hello there! I’m Vida Rachel Brinker. I am an artist and a micro-scale farmer-florist in Corvallis, Oregon.
Growing and drying my own flowers, I approach wreath-making like building a 3D mosaic, excited and delighted by the placement of each small bit of color and texture offered from the flowers and plants harvested from my garden. I also make smaller dried floral products like hat clips, flower crowns, and mini-wreath ornaments.
My watercolor, mixed media, and acrylic pieces are rooted in the patterns and textures of nature and fueled by the beauty around my home near the Willamette River. Through painting, I seek to communicate the ways in which my perception of the external landscape informs my internal emotional landscape, and vice versa.
I like to swim in wild rivers and hunt for agates on the Oregon Coast. I enjoy the gray days of Oregon winters and the hot dry sunny days of Oregon summers. During my studio days I am often accompanied by my black cat or my giant golden retriever puppy.
